The Essence of Life: Graphics, Resources, Layouts

Come here to show off your phenomenal avatar graphics skills? Fortunately, you've come to the right place. This is the first contest of 2007, featuring celebrity avatars for this contest. However, there's no theme for the celebrity avatars. As long as the avatar features a posed model of someone(preferrably a celebrity), I'm fine with it.
This will be the longest tournament since the time I started contests (two before); there will be a preliminaries and a final tournament.

Preliminaries

There will be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th(runner-up), Top 10 Finalists for the places.

A maximum of 3 avatars may be entered. This gives you a greater chance of winning. If however your avatar is chosen for two or more prize places at the end of the finals, you will be given the best/highest award; this gives other contestants a bigger opportunity.

Theme: Celebrities. This means that it can be from any culture as long as it's just an image/pose of that person. No adult content or 13+ content; it should be viewable for all ages.

You will have to link back to TEOL with the provided banner, which means you must have a website.

You have to be the artist of the avatar. It must be made by you and no one else. It must be 100x100 pixeled.

All aspects of the avatar will be judged upon.

Deadline: May 12, 2007 10:00 pm!

If you have already entered TEOL's past avatar contest, and you'd like to join this time as well, please do not enter the one you entered in 2006. I do not want to re-judge an avatar, plus it would be nicer if you could use a newer one.

Failure to abide by the rules, and you won't be accepted.

Finals

The finals will be available once the preliminaries are done being judged upon.

There will be 10 finalists.

All packages may be described via email. If not, I will choose any image for you; I choose the descriptions.
All graphics packages will be dedicated to your site.
Also keep in mind that many of the avatars will be of equal skill, so the awards are similar. But please read them carefully, because some small areas are not the same.
1st Place
-1st place award and participation award.
-Graphics package-no more than 10 of any of the following: PNGs, gradients, textures, buttons, banners, avatars, brushes.
-Shameless advertising for 3 months.
-A 100x100 Avatar dedicated to your site or yourself.
-4 images of the celebrity of your choice.
-Optional: Gmail Invite, affiliation/link exchange/link out.
2nd Place
-2nd place award and participation award.
-Graphics package-no more than 7 of any of the following: PNGs, gradients, textures, buttons, banners, avatars, brushes.
-Shameless advertising for 3 months.
-A 100x100 Avatar dedicated to your site or yourself.
-3 images of the celebrity of your choice.
-Optional: Gmail Invite, affiliation/link exchange/link out.
3rd Place
-3rd place award and participation award.
-Graphics package-no more than 5 of any of the following: PNGs, gradients, textures, buttons, banners, avatars, brushes.
-Shameless advertising for 3 months.
-A 100x100 Avatar dedicated to your site or yourself.
-2 images of the celebrity of your choice.
-Optional: Gmail Invite, affiliation/link exchange/link out.
4th Place(Runner-up)
-4th place award and participation award.
-Graphics package-no more than 3 of any of the following: PNGs, gradients, textures, buttons, banners, avatars, brushes.
-Shameless advertising for 3 months.
-A 100x100 Avatar dedicated to your site or yourself.
-1 image of the celebrity of your choice.
-Optional: Gmail Invite, chance of affiliation/link exchange/link out.
Top 10 Finalists
-Top 10 Finalists award and participation award.

Participants
-Participation award.
-Your site linked on the past contests page forever.
