The Essence of Life has come a long way. I've started back with Freewebs when my close friend, Yishan, taught me how to code. But I remember I used to copy coding and use it as my own. This of course was bad to do, but I always thought coding was coding, and could be copied. Of course, I've learned my lesson, as I've come all this way to make a web design site.
So I started to move to Kylosa, but then that site closed down, and I kept on moving from host to host, till I found a stable one. The current host I have now is X-tenshi and is very useful, though it does not provide enough space for my growing archive of resources and layouts. Then I found out about sponsoring and what they did for the sponsoree. My current sponsors are life savers! I hope you have time to visit them before you leave this site for good.
During my time of making my first site--a media site--I joined plenty of topsites and rotations to get more hits. But as life dragged on, I accomplished more than just visitors; I had the gift of achievement in web design. Honestly, I don't know when and how I suddenly started doing this, but I'm sure it was because of Anime Rain. That site was practically all of my former affilaite's idol, and of course, was mine too. We all were stunned by Starfire's graphics, and soon we followed the trend.
Now web design sites are mostly about icons, layouts, and some Photoshop resources, but I knew TEOL would now end up like the others. Some ended as failures; others, successful like Aethereality. I haven't heard of Aethereality till I just started this site. I used to honour sites like these, but I noticed there was another standard that was becoming in this small web design community: "quality over quantity." This rule drove me insane to search for better affiliates and for even better graphics. I dropped many affiliates, as many of them have moved on.
The official date of starting graphic design was probably around a year and half ago. Recently, I have been going to many icon tutorial sites to hone my skills. This of course, has dropped my overall site's resource reputation, and thus adds to my to-improve-on list for the future.
